What’s Your REAL Name?

I’ve used the internet since the early days of AOL and Prodigy back in 1994 and I’ve always viewed online communities as a place where you create an alias and keep your online life separate from your offline life. As the internet is maturing Social Networking is moving to the next level. Michael Arrington at TechCrunch just wrote a piece about MySpace encouraging members to use their real names and that this is going to be major transformation in 2009. I guess I’m maturing with the internet because this is the same change that I decided to make this week. I don’t want to be an anonymous person on the internet anymore. These words are my voice and I want people to know that they are coming from me.
